Ad's
When it comes to advertisements I don't really notice much about them. To me ads like they are getting more and more rediculouse, so i try to avoud them. But there is one kind of add that seames to catch my eye and that is just the simplest type of advertisements. One that sticks out in my mind would be when you arre coming into makato on 169 south there is a big billboard that just has the pepsi logo on it with a matching blue background. To me this is the best kind of advertisement it is simpple and gets the point across, buy pepsi. There is one kind of add tht i can just not stand, the radio commercial ad, I think this may just be becouse they are so overplayed and they are always on. Without that visual effect it just seames too boring and actually annoying to listen to. This is probably why i never listen to the radio, my iPod plugs into everything that i would ever listen to music on, this way I an just aviod the radio commercial all together. When it comes to television advertisements the best one are on during the superbowl, even if they are made super cheap people have put time into making them and thinking them up unlike the commercials that are on during the rest of the year that to me just seam stupid. Overall the best kinds of ads in my mind is the ones that are the mose simple.

Spring Break
Sam's spring break was pretty non-eventful, the majority of his break was spent at the Ridgedale Byerly's where he works. However Sam was lucky enough to go home early getting home on thursday the reason he simply wanted to go home, that night he whent to a midnight showing of 10,000 B.C. not the best movie ever made but he thought the visual effects were the most entertaining part of the film. He spent friday night mostly as home woth his family for a late birthday dinner even though he was unawhere of how many people were coming over it was somewhat of a suprise. Later that night Sam whent to St. Paul to visit a freind. Now came time to work Sam worked from Monday threw Friday of that week and workin about 30 hours. During that week on Tuesday he whent back to St. Paul to party at a friends appartment and whent to Mickeys Diner for the first time, he loved the food. The next day he whent back to St. Paul to meet up with some other friends and eat at Cosseta's Sam's favorite italian or pizza place. Sam ended his break by planning a small trip with a few freinds up to Spirit Mountian in Duluth where he stayed for one night, and when he came back that Sunday his parents suprised him by giving him and his brother two club level tickets to the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Excel Center. The concert was amazing one of the best he has been to, and they topped off the night by returning to Mickey's Diner after the concert. For being a pretty un-eventful vacation he had a great time.

Pursuasive Paper
For my pursuasive paper I am writing about school searches. I am taking the position that if a person pays to rent out a space such as a locker or a parking space or dorm room it becomes that persons personal space and is subject to the same search and siezer policy as any other car or home that is privatly owned. So if the school would like a way to search anything on the property without following the how it is legally done to any other private property the area wanting to be searched would have to be free to whomever is using it becouse than it is still property of the schools. I have found a few different sites that state local law and sites that state constitutional rights that give schools different rights and ability to creat there own "school law". During writing this blog I am now becoming concerned about how to right the paper without making i sound to wordy, and less like a legal document and more like a well flowing paper. There are suprisingly alot of sources wiith many different views on how the laws regarding school searches are to be inturpreted, and carried out.

"A Modest Proposal"
I have read this paper a few times and every time I read it I cannot figure out if this is his real offer is for real or if there is an underlying message. But the way i have taken it so far is that this is his extreme quick fix to the problem at hand. The offer states that the children of poor families most of whom are beggers should be sacraficed for the greater good of the kingdom and the families will be paid for the child at one year of age and the child will be prepared as food for the higher powers of the kingdom. He claimes that this will solve many problems the poor families will have a legitamate income, there will be plenty of food to go around, as whell as a new custom for the cititzens. He also mentioned that no part will be wasted the hide will be used to make an assortment of goods, such as gloves for women and possibly boots for the men. This is a very interesting aurgument besides the obviouse flaws that would not be accepted in todays culture this "Proposal" would solve many problems that the country faced and it would do so very quickly.

Film Review
Last class we watched a video called "Go Further" in this movie Woody Harrellson often refered to as Woody Allen by his close friend biked along the west coast for over 15000 miles to raise awhareness on how to live a healthier life while treating the enviroment with respect at the same time. I really liked the video i thought it was really interesting and funny at the same time Woody's friend who is a self proclaimed "junk food addict" just seems to be tagging along for the nice views as they bike down the shore. One of my favorite parts was when after finishing up a talk about how to treat your body better and buy products from local farmers instead of coorporations Woody's friend is shown smoking a Marbolo cigarete, and takes a verbal beating from anyone on the tour that saw him.
I liked wathing this movie and watching how many different characters dealed with the different situations that came along on the trip. One of the older guys on the trip took a pretty nasty fall about halfway through the trip and needed to go to the hospital. They cleaned him up he recieved a few stiches and the next day he was on his bike. He was only able to bend one knee but apparently that was enough for him so he rode on only peddeling with one leg.

History of a name
There is somewhat of a funny interesting story I am named after my great grandfather on my mom’s side of the family. He was my mom’s only living grandparent and they called him grandpa Teddy shot for Thomas. My mom wanted to name me after him but also liked the name Sam so there was a compromise and I was named Samuel Thomas. When she told her mom, my grandma asked why she chose the first name Samuel because my mom was not a where that Grandpa Teddy's middle name was Thomas and his first name was in fact Samuel. So by complete coincidence I was named after my great grandpa with his first and middle name. That is the story behind my name and how it came to be.

Research & Concerns
During the library session I learned a few things since i have never been in the library before besides cutting threw the basement on cold days. I learned just about everything I will need to know to find everything for my paper. I learned how to do simple things like look up book on the computer which i had no idea how to do before the visit. But he most important thing that I think that i learned would have to be the database's on the website, becouse during previouse research in highschool these were my main source of information, and im glad that there are so many database's.
There still are some concerns that I have about writing this paper but its not so much about the paper itself. My paper is about the begining of snowboarding and how it all began, I kind of think of it as a "Lords of Dogtown" for snowboarding. My only concers are about what is going to go in the paper and how I am going to orgonize it in order from past to present while at the same time fitting all of the different aspects of the paper in. Since there are so many different thing and topics I could write about but I want it to be easily understood from what happened in the begging to what is happening now.
