Bitter Cold

I really don't mind cold weather because I love to snowboard but its when it is that dry bitter cold, that does bother me. the biggest thing that bothers me about the cold is just simple things that have to be done like walking to class, it just makes it that much worse. There is something even worse than that most people might not think of this but when it is really cold out the snow sucks for snowboarding. when it is that cold the runs get really icy with a thin layer of ice shavings on top. this is the worst kind of snow because it is hard to stay in control and it takes all the wax off the snowboard. I really don't mind bundling up but its the snow conditions that really bother me. There are some good things about the cold. The dorm that i live at is always really hot so we always have the window open and fan going this is when we are glad to have cold weather because it cools down the room.

Favorite Song

For this post it is hard for me to pick my favorite song because i like so much different kinds of music so allot of my favorite songs are not really comparable to each other, although if i had to choose just one i think it would have to be "Hurricane" by Bob Dylan. this song was off his first album release in 1976 off the album "Desire".
I think the reason I like this song so much is because it is the music that I grew up with because it is what my parents listened to, and also my first concert that i ever went to was Bob Dylan at the target center with my parents when I was about 9. The reason that I still love this song to this day is because it has a good story to it, that is based off a real event that happened and the song inspired a movie.
It is also interesting to know that the song is about a famous boxer that is wrongly convicted of a crime and in real life Bob Dylan supported him all along and strongly supported a retrial/investigation that eventually freed the the famous boxer.

Favorite Place

My favorite place is nothing that one might expect, it is what I think to be one of the most peace full places if not the most peace full place that I have ever been. This place is not too far from where I live in Minnetonka Minnesota, this place is called Pineknot Cabin. This cabin is just located in between Tofte and Lutsen Minnesota, just about thirty minutes south of Canada on the famous highway 61 often sang about by Bob Dylan and in the title of his album "Highway 61 Revisited".
Pineknot Cabin is this old classic 1920's log cabin that is located on a 40 foot rock cliff that overlooks Lake Superior, this is a true log cabin all walls including the inner walls between the rooms are made of completely logs and no nails can be found. I first went up to Pineknot about a year ago on a family trip to the north shore and I fell in love with it. I was lucky enough to be able to go back last spring break with four other friends of mine. We where able to stay for five nights and snowboard at Lutsen for four days. All of my friends loved the cabin so much that not only did we name the moose head that hung on the wall Sir Buckington, we also left a personalized note to ourselves in his antlers for when we go back. We are currently planning another trip this upcoming spring break with more people to enjoy to enjoy the amazing Pineknot Cabin with us.
